5 Reality Stars With The Worst Style

Reality shows are the gifts that keep on giving. From on-screen meltdowns that go viral to cringe-worthy outfit choices, there's a host of reasons we tune in to our guilty pleasures. And, unless they're Dorit Kemsley from "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," many reality stars don't have a stylist, so any bad 'fits that you see are all on them. Even with help, Kemsley has had quite a few misses, such as her red hooded Season 13 reunion look. "The outfit ... that hair!!!! Missed the mark Dorito. She looked like an elderly warlock," a fan wrote on Reddit.

Still, as much as she missed the mark, Kemsley isn't the worst television personality when it comes to style. In fact, some have become known for their quirky sartorial choices and have leaned into it. Regardless of whether they're just clueless or they're doing it on purpose for the press, these reality stars continually fail to dress to impress.

Snooki's style hasn't changed much from her Jersey Shore days

In 2009, MTV gave us a gem called "Jersey Shore," where tans were deep, hair was high, and the fashion was abominable. Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi particularly stood out, especially when she made her grand entrance into the house wearing a long black t-shirt over a pink dress while announcing, "Hello, party's here!" Throughout her three seasons on the show, Snooki wore her too-tight dresses, flip-flops all summer long, and bling — lots of bling.

One outfit that ranks high for the worst fashion choice is Polizzi's lime green "I'm bad" t-shirt with denim shorts and furry black boots worn during the cast trip to Italy in 2011. "So this is an iconic look. A lot of people that dressed up as Snooki for Halloween usually wear this. And, yeah, it was just, like, one of my favorite outfits that I really wanted to wear in Italy," she told E! News.

Now, over a decade later, Snooki is still sticking to her signature look. On January 29, she shared a selfie on Instagram wearing a red studded matching set and a pink cardigan with heart-shaped crystal sunglasses. "Be my Valentine?" she asked her husband Jionni LaValle. Polizzi does dress to get noticed and if you're into leopard print and fringed shirts, you can always shop at her store, The Snooki Shop.

RHOP's Gizelle Bryant constantly misses the mark on her fashion choices

"The Real Housewives of Potomac" star Gizelle Bryant is undoubtedly very beautiful and her makeup always looks impeccable, but her style — not so much. The reality star has a penchant for tacky designs and failing to put together a cohesive outfit. Her Season 7 reunion dress was eye-catching in all the wrong ways, with oddly placed crystal bands around her torso and arms. Her castmate Karen Huger said it best when she stated (via Showbiz CheatSheet), "Thank God Gizelle is a good-looking woman because she can't dress at all. I'm ashamed to be seen with her sometimes, to be honest. I get a headache talking about Gizelle's clothes. You have an Excedrin or a Tylenol?"

Huger isn't the only one who noticed Bryant's bad style. When asked who the worst-dressed housewives in the Bravo-verse were on "Behind the Velvet Rope," Shea Couleé of "RuPaul's Drag Race" answered, "Mine would be between Gizelle Bryant and Crystal from Beverly Hills." Fans weren't quick to let Bryant off the hook for her fashion either. After the "RHOP" star shared a TikTok video of herself dancing in a camo dress, one wrote, "This what Karen be talking about." Another replied, "The 'fits are never correct."

Don't Be Tardy star Kim Zolciak needs a stylist stat

If there's anything Kim Zolciak-Biermann (better known as just Kim Zolciak, of course) shouldn't be tardy for, it's an appointment with a stylist. Since appearing in "The Real Housewives of Atlanta," the "Tardy for the Party" singer became known for her loud get-ups, with no tacky dress left behind. For her Season 1 cast promo pic, Zolciak opted to wear a long bubblegum pink strapless gown with ruffles cascading down the lower half, which did not look "Gone with the Wind fabulous," as Kenya Moore would say. When the "Don't Be Tardy" star shared a throwback pic of the look, a fan commented, "Boy the cast photos sure have changed ... they would never have five different styles/clashing colors today!!!"

It seems Zolciak's bad style has haunted her since she was young. "Oh my god, I wore overalls in ninth grade. Cream overalls with a flower shirt, rolled up tight on my legs with some Reeboks with the Velcro," she told Lookbook (via Bravo). Since then, she hasn't upped her fashion and in 2009, Zolciak donned a white satin dress with black floral appliques that looked like a homemade bridal gown for the Golden Globes afterparty. Her recent style hasn't improved much either. In February 2022, she shared an Instagram snap of her wearing a criss-cross front top over a pink bra. Known for her daring clothes, she once told the Daily Mail, "It's ok[ay] to show some skin, just don't show everything. Do it in a classy way; it's good to leave something to the imagination."

Vanderpump Rules' Katie Maloney's hodgepodge fashion choices don't make sense

Katie Maloney-Schwartz's style — better known from TV as Katie Maloney — has changed since first appearing in "Vanderpump Rules" Season 1. Back then she dressed more Forever 21, but as the years progressed, she started experimenting with putting different pieces together, like when she paired a black sweatshirt with a maxi skirt and silver rhinestone booties. Although we give her props for making risky fashion choices, she often looks like she tried too hard. When talking about her past outfit of a black velvet camisole worn over a neutral animal print minidress and an orange belt cinched at her waist, Maloney stated on Bravo, "A lot of people would give me s*** but they don't get my style."

Maloney appears to be right. One Redditor asked, "Why is Katie terrible at fashion?" and a "Vanderpump Rules" fan answered, "She really is. I think she's trying to be edgy, but it doesn't work at all." Another wrote, "If a stylist dressed her, he/she needs to be fired. If Katie dressed herself ... shame on her friends!!!!" Maloney addressed all the backlash she got for her "VPR" Season 11 premiere party, which was another leopard dress with a sheer black top underneath on her podcast, "Disrespectfully." The reality star shared, "I like to wear stuff that maybe doesn't make sense to other people and like is kind of taking a risk and things like that but it's what I like to do. I like to experiment, I like to take risks. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't."

Shahs of Sunset star MJ Javid is fond of tracksuits

The "Shahs of Sunset" cast all had their own eclectic style and Mercedes "MJ" Javid's stood out as one of the worst ones on the show. The mom of one was known for her love of matching athleisure sets and whether it was made out of velour or satin, you bet she was rocking one. In fact, it became so much her signature look that Javid's castmate Nima Vand dressed up as her for Halloween in Season 9 and sported a silky set with a crop top. "You look like a New Jersey housewife," Destiney Rose joked (via Bravo).

Javid got a little prickly after Golnesa Gharachedaghi made fun of her style. "I wouldn't call what [MJ] does 'dress up.' I'm not being mean. I'm just saying: The way people dress in music videos, is for music videos. People don't realize that," Gharachedaghi stated in an episode. Following the diss, Javid went on "Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen" and shared, "I mean, I don't know why she isn't a fan of my style. And if she [isn't], she should say something to me. Maybe come over and say: 'Let's put some of your outfits together,'" (via Bravo). That's actually not a bad idea.
